CINAGE at Ljubljana's Municipality News

Active aging gives older people the opportunity to realize their potential and actively contribute to their environment. So how can older people remain fully integrated into society after retirement? How is it possible to mitigate the negative and positive stereotypes about the elderly? How can the film contributes to this objective?

The aim of the project CINAGE is to contribute to improving lifelong learning opportunities for older people, while European film used as a method. As noted by Miran ERIC European films on the elderly and active aging were staged by the young generation of directors and, therefore, all of them full of stereotypes about the elderly. So how can we film shows active aging and affects the image of the elderly? It can be a tool for overcoming stereotypes or further creates? Why is the age of the films are often shown in a humorous way? Why the problems and difficulties of the young generation is often reflected in the films of the older (as that young directors of his generation problems mapped to the stereotyped portrayal of life for the elderly)? In these and similar questions is answered focal group, which is part of the research on active ageing policies, analysed 12 European films in terms of competencies active ageing. Dušan Findeis and Miran Eric have pointed out that the findings concerning European films, older, active aging and the social context of the age of the force exciting and diverse. Ultimately all watch movies and subjectively experienced by each in their own way.

Dušan Findeis presented intergenerational film club by the University of the Third Age in Ljubljana is preparing together with the Association of Students of andragogy and pedagogy. The purpose of the club is to bring young and old together to watch, evaluate and debating about movies, young and old. Only in this way can the stereotypes about young people and the elderly defeated.
